Waffle House Waffles
This is one that will do at
a pinch made fresh when someone in a fit of adolescent spontanety decides
he wants waffles for breakfast on Sunday morning. It is better, of course,
left to chill in the fridge overnight.
A variation on the original found at www.topsecretrecipes.com |
You will need
- 1.5 cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 2 tablespoons (30g) Butter
- 2 tablespoons (30g) Cooking Oil
- 1/4 cup Sour Cream
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1/4 cup Low Fat Milk or buttermilk
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
-
Combine dry ingredients
in large bowl and set aside.
-
Mix butter and oil together
with sugar and egg and blend
-
Add cream and milk and
essence, and blend.
-
Add to dry ingredients
and mix well.
-
Ideally, place in fridge
for 10 - 12 hours for batter to mature, but can still make an acceptable
waffle straight off.
-
Place about a quarter cup
at a time in a waffle iron and cook acording to instructions on the
machine.
-
Serve hot with usual accompaniments.
